Overview
The Game
Bō: Path of the Teal Lotus is a 2.5D Metroidvania centered around Japanese mythology. Play as the titular hero Bō as you explore the world of Denkai. The presentation of the game is based on Japanese artwork, and the world itself draws much inspiration from Japanese geography and history.
What did I do?
As an Audio Director & Lead and also solo Sound Designer, I took the lead over all the audio for the project, and alongside Mexican composer Moises Camargo music tracks, we took care of designing and crafting a beautiful soundscape made up of japanese folklore instruments and sounds, using an adaptive methodology in FMOD and Unity Implementation for this adventure which first saw the light in July 2024, and which DLC released on November 2025.
Harmonic Immersion
Every fox flame collected is dynamically tuned to the specific musical scale of the soundtrack playing in that moment.
